The Global Briefing editorial team consists of Gráinne Gilmore, Vicki Shiel, Liam Bailey and Andrew Shirley.

Liam Bailey, head of residential research
Liam has substantial experience across the UK and international residential sectors. He has a particular interest in prime market performance, development economics and market making. He is a leading authority on the residential market and is widely quoted in the national and international media.
Leading a wide range of projects for developers, investors and funders, Liam provides support for residential property strategies in local, regional, national and international contexts. His recent expertise includes regeneration, market failure, development capacity and sustainability.
Andrew Shirley, head of rural property research
Before joining Knight Frank, Andrew spent almost eight years as Farmers Weekly’s property and business editor, covering farming and land markets globally.
He monitors and analyses UK and global land prices, rents and other relevant data, and is regularly quoted in the national press. He has worked in Thailand, Kenya and Zimbabwe, and holds a degree in Resource Management from the Royal Agricultural College.

Gráinne Gilmore, head of UK residential research
Gráinne joined Knight Frank from The Times, where she was economics correspondent for three years. Before that she was deputy money editor, winning a national award for her coverage of the personal finance sector.
Gráinne is an expert on the UK housing market and also specialises in economics, policy and trends in the mainstream mortgage market.
Kate Everett-Allen, international residential research
Before joining Knight Frank Kate worked for DTZ Debenham Tie Leung analysing the performance of European commercial markets. Kate also studied and worked in Spain for several years undertaking residential market reports for developers and investors.
Kate coordinates and analyses Knight Frank’s global residential data. She is responsible for the production of the company’s international indices which are regarded as the industry’s benchmark for measuring the performance of housing markets, both mainstream and prime, around the world.
Vicki Shiel, editorial and research executive
Vicki worked as a journalist before joining Knight Frank’s residential research team in London in 2010. She produces and edits content for various reports, publications and online platforms, fed by analysis of residential market trends, both in the UK and globally. She is the editor of Global Briefing and assistant editor of The Wealth Report.
