Our Indices

Knight Frank’s Residential Research team produces some of the property industry’s most respected data. Our indices are a key part of this and are used by consultancy firms, investors and developers as well as being regularly featured in the UK and international media.

Having tracked the performance of London's luxury property market since 1976, this index is compiled monthly and is based on the valuation of a comprehensive basket of properties by our central London offices.

It provides the most comprehensive analysis available of market movements in prime central London locations such as Mayfair, Chelsea and Knightsbridge.

The index looks at performance by property type (house or apartment) and within various price bands. Each of these can be split further by area.

ENGLISH FARMLAND

The English farmland market is driven by many factors other than agricultural profitability. These include “lifestyle” reasons, conservation and the favourable tax benefits offered by farmland ownership.

This diversity of buyers has helped the index to outperform virtually all UK property sectors and the FTSE 100 index of leading shares over the past decade.
